May Christ hold your hand on the path
May the Holy Spirit strengthen you on the way
In the sun, in the dark
When you are happy
When you are sad.
May you know that God is always
Circling you around with love
Protecting you
Loving you.
May you be blessed in knowing this
Now, today, tonight, tomorrow,
All your days.
God bless you.

Cao, that was beautiful.
We place our trust in God
and send the love in our hearts to Andrea.
By Lacie on Sunday, February 4, 2001 - 02:30 pm:
UPDATE - Andrea is out of intensive care and has been transfered to Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital - it is one of the best. The initial operation was on C4 ... in medical terms I think her condition is C5-6. At this stage she is Quad, with hope of some improvement. We will continue to pray for and encourage the minimal movement she has shown in her arms. It seems she can, at times, lift her arms but does not have the movement to lower them.
She is a beautiful young lady!! I continue to ask for your prayers, thoughts, positive energy.
By Lacie on Sunday, February 4, 2001 - 02:43 pm:
We would also like to know of any radical treatments / therapy that is available thoughout the world.
I thank you all .. those who have posted here; those who have emailed me and those who have talked with me in chat. Please!! continue your prayers/thoughts/energy for Andrea.
By Gypsywench on Sunday, February 4, 2001 - 05:32 pm:

thanks lost,i didn't know that.
By Victoria on Friday, February 9, 2001 - 01:50 am:
lacie - sorry to hear when something so bad happens to someone so young with their life ahead of them - she will have a long hard road ahead of her but we will all wish her strength to heal. If there is anymore we can do we are just a holler away. Hugs and healing wishes.
By Lacie on Friday, February 9, 2001 - 04:16 pm:
Thanks, Vic. Yeah, she is so young, but, I gotta tell ya all. This young lady is a 'hero'. She is just amazing!
Andrea is talking about 'when I can continue at school' .. 'when I get home' .. Her spirit is impressive!!!!!
There is still no improvement in her movements. She is able to lift her arms, but not lower them down again .. the various muscle groups are controlled at differing levels of vertebrae. We are still holding out hope that some finger movement will return when the initial swelling from the accident dissipates.
The family are VERY interested in any programs or alternative therapy anyone might know of.
Thank you all for you prayers and good wishes .. keep them coming!!!!!
By Guest on Thursday, February 15, 2001 - 02:54 pm:

My friend, Former Canadian Olympic & Commonwealth Games Cyclist, Joyclin Lovell, who received spinal cord injuries( quadriplegic)after a cycling accident back in the 1980's is a prime mover for this program here in Canada. He is convinced that someday he will be riding his bike again..

Between us, let's repair the rent in the fabric of world society.
God be with you, Americans. We share your shock and offer comfort in your pain.
By Wundamom on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 01:30 pm:
I watched the news in horror yesterday from my office, needless to say I wasn't a very productive employee. Right before noon, I said "That's it, I'm taking this nausea and knotted stomach and leaving to go check on my kiddo at school." I did so and we had lunch. I stayed a little longer and was a "guest reader" to his class and then we headed for home a little later. The children were full of questions.
It's amazing how this calm anger I feel can be redirected so positively. My son and I had a very poignant discussion about what was happening to Americans. I agree with what I'm reading/hearing that this will unite us stronger than ever in the United States. They want to take away our strongest emotion... "love." We will outsmart, outmaneuver and outlast all of this and more because.. "We get it."
Wishing there was more I could do just as one individual. Please, please lift up in prayer those service men (and all the branches) that are being called in to help.
Keep Looking Up,
Wun
P.S. Emmmm, a little freaky when 2 F-16's flew directly over my house yesterday. Seems they were escorts for the only 2 flights allowed to leave the national airport nearby.
By Gypsywench on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 02:47 pm:
i found out in school yesterday. the following is a prayer to honor all the people that were hurt or killed.
"You have gone and now I wonder
Why it is you must depart.
And even though you're just a memory
Your spark of life is in our hearts.
No tears or wishing bring you back,
No hope can change this plan of time.
Into the Heavens divine.
The Sun in this world, where you left us,
Rises, shining, then descends,
Setting in the western quarter
Yet soon to come back again.
Within your land there is no shadow
And love eternal never dies.
I know you're with us every moment
Even through this brief goodbye."

By Accasbel on Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 11:35 pm:
If you want scum - I've got real scum for you!
American-based as it happens, but they could be from anywhere.
I get a lot of spam. It goes with the territory - having email addresses on websites and usenet/maillist postings.
There's a bunch of scumbags that plague me daily with offers of things that I've never wanted. They hide behind 'bullet-proof' offshore hosts, but they are 'American'.
This mornning they're spamvertising a page that purports to collect money for victim relief.
Though they say they take only 10% of donations for 'admin costs', the true figure is almost certainly 100%.
If anyone wnats to contribute, do so directly to the proper organisations, and not through intermediaries.
I'll continue to give as much hell as I can to scumbags.
Remember that evil is closer to home than you would like to think.
Don't demonise a people or a race or a religion. That way of thinking is what caused the attacks to happen.
Look for demons closer to home.
You'll find them.

Purely Proper Pontifications, Pontiff.
Anyone who judges an entire country on the actions of its government or a handful of its citizens/residents, are guilty of the same form of bigotry that those who carried out this attack.
By Celt on Friday, September 14, 2001 - 03:06 am:
I think Accasbel will forgive me this time for the length of this post. But the mind reels at this unspeakable horror; we cannot wrap our minds around the sheer magnitude. Perhaps this post will help put a human face on the numbers we are hearing on the news.
It is inconceivable what men will do to their fellow humans in the name of God...madness, madness...
Five thousand candles sputter in the cold night wind. Each a loved one, each with loved ones...

*lights two candles*
The first is for all we have lost in the last few days.
The second is for a new little life which came into the world last night. Samantha was born at 5:08 MST yesterday to my very best friends. She arrived over a month early and weighs only 3lbs 1 ounce... but she is breathing on her own, and is a perfectly healthy little baby.
I just wanted to share this with all of you because it gave me hope. Even after this terrible tragedy, life goes on its lifey course. Wonderful things happen quietly all over the world. Beautiful children are born to parents who will teach them to love and respect others, to value life, and to work to make the world a better place.
And because of that, my heart is lighter.

the first is for the hurt and killed of the attacks. the second is because the woman that my mom rents office space from died last night. at the end of Oct. she's out an office. Gods help us all. things here seem to be going from terable to horrible.

"There is not enough darkness in the world to put out the light of one candle." Please, don't let the candles burn out. One candle loses nothing by lighting another.

GRIEF broke borders and natural barriers today as Northern Ireland and The Republic joined international expressions of sympathy with America - and faced the growing prospect that Irish people lost relatives in Tuesday's terrorist attacks.
Tyone gaelic football stars Peter and Pascal Canavan were today hoping for news on their New York cousin who has been missing since Tuesday's attack.
Sheila Quinn (79), from north Belfast, was preparing to hear the worst about the fate of her brother's grandson, Brian Monaghan.
Family members were in New York just a few weeks ago to celebrate the 21st birthday of Brian, a relative of former champion boxer Rinty Monaghan.
And there were also fears for Sheffield man Nigel Thompson, whose father Norman is from Northern Ireland.
Dubliner Patrick Currivan and Co Cork woman Ruth McCourt and her four-year-old daughter Juliana were among those on board the hijacked jets which smashed into the World Trade Centre.
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
...where there is injury, pardon;
...where there is doubt, faith;
...where there is despair, hope;
...where there is darkness, light;
...where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
...to be consoled as to console;
...to be understood as to understand;
...to be loved as to love with all my heart.
