Dave? Ha ha ha ha ..... I DON'T THINK SO! But perhaps if you prove yourself worthy to be a member of the glorious Fianna then perhaps. But until you've won a battle, you remain among the poor timid souls not worthy the eye of one of these bonnie wee lasses.
It is my place to be the chivalrous & noble Fionn protecting the beautiful woman of Tir.

*delighted with the language lessons* Yeghes da....I like that. *s* Does one pronounce the g? I'm working with 'yeg-iss'...sound right?
By Lostsoul on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 12:08 am:
And while we're at it...merasta? And where in Kernow are you? A friend just got to spend a heavenly week there, and she brought pictures back that will make you cry from beauty. *drops a red cinnamon bear in CJ's (may I call you CJ? *G*) bowl while he's distracted with the out-and-out flattery to his homeland*
By Themightyfionn on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 02:29 am:
Jaysus, there isn't even any room left on my own bleedin couch!! Come on gang, make some room please? I mean after all, this is my guest house aye? Sheeeesh !!
By Laurelrose on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 02:23 pm:
yes yes yes but what the heck is gumbo?
By Lostsoul on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 03:28 pm:
*wonders* Do you really not know what gumbo is, or are ya just tryin' to get Mac to pass on his wonderful recipe? *L*
By Mcguire on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 04:53 pm:
Gumbo is sort of a soup, but somewhat thicker in consistency. It has shrimp, crab meat, oysters (optional), starts with a flour rue, onions, garlic, bell peppers, green onions (whatever else you like in this dept.) as well as a mixture of creole spices and is served in a bowl over rice and may or may not have croutons. There are also pieces of crab in for flavoring (the upper shell is removed as well as any organs *L*)It tastes pretty good and is usually an appetizer. There is also a chicken and sausage type of gumbo and is kinda similar.
By Laurelrose on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 05:03 pm:
i want some (yes i really did not know what gumbo was, i'm from New Zealand don't ya know).. can i have the chicken kind please?
By Silk on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 09:23 pm:
Wot!....do you REALLY mean it has nothing to do with boiled up Gumboots served on a bed of Pukeko feathers?...Ooohhh....DANG! *puts Gumboots back on and takes Pukeko back to swamp*
By Cousinjack on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 09:35 pm:
*Eats more gumbo, turns to LS*. Yes you may call me CJ, sounds kinda cool. Yeghes- pronounced yay-hays and da- as in DA-gger. Merasta- pronounced mureesta and why- pronounced wee. *Looks at the gumbo and nods approval.* This gumbo is fantastic. I live in Liskeard which is in the Caradon district of south east Kernow. *Discovers red cinnamon bear and stares at it*.
By Laurelrose on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 - 10:10 pm:
hey silky you are from NZ cool i am moving back... hehehehe a month or so now.. hehehehe (starts singing home home on the range)

By Themightyfionn on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 01:55 am:
Oh Great, not only isn't there room in my own flippin guest house but the guests are also ignoring me!! *shakes his head in dismay*
Now what's a fellah to do?
By Lostsoul on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 03:07 am:
*laughs wickedly* By virtue of the fact that it is a guest house it means 2 things:
1: You have your own MAIN house and don't need room on the couch.
2: Of course we ignore you...*L*...we're all drunk! It's what we politely DON'T do in your main house.
*slips behind CJ and hopes Fionn forgets just which one in this crowd I am...*
*LLLL*
By Mcguire on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 05:39 am:
Here Fionn, put these moose antlers on. You'll get noticed now *L* The girls love Bullwinkle.

Oh wait..... that's a cow isn't it? What the heck does a Moose sound like? Where's Rocky?
By Mcguire on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 12:38 pm:

By Cousinjack on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 11:03 pm:
*Turns to LS and chuckles* Coward. Yes merasta why means thank you. You should visit Kernow one day, she maybe small but she's a beautiful country.*Turns to Fionn* Sorry matey, i should've spoken to you seeing it's your guest house and your the host.*Looks at the moose antlers*If thats the size of your mooses, they must make a hell of a mess of your skirting boards!!*Takes very large swigs out of 2 bottles of ale at once, then stands behind LS for protection from the giant mooses*
By Mcguire on Wednesday, September 11, 2002 - 11:12 pm:
I didn't forget the okra, I don't like it either. The file however, is one of the secret ingredients. Hey D, those antlers are you pal!!
Have another snort of Jameson's...
By Lostsoul on Thursday, September 12, 2002 - 03:23 am:
*looks behind myself and up....* Um, ya can't hide very well behind someone who is shorter than you, silly. *L* As for visiting Kernow, someday, someday. Reading Rosamunde Pilcher's books always set a longing in me....as do Gabaldon's for Scotland and any Irish music for some wee little cottage on charming country lane....*sighs* More alcohol, please....getting a bit melancholy over here. *L*
By Cousinjack on Friday, September 13, 2002 - 03:00 pm:

By Lostsoul on Friday, September 13, 2002 - 03:50 pm:

I'd end up as a guest
In Fionn's House of madness
Mac cooked up gumbo
Laurelrose did a mean mambo
CousinJack dropped in
He thought this was the Inn
Silk was in fine spirits
Lostsoul sang a fine tune
Shamrock even made it
To Fionn's house for noon
Wun was a fine hostess
She always is the mostess
Tecumseh brought the music
Raven checked the accoustics
We owe this fine quest
To an anonymous guest
Which goes to prove
Someone knows how ro groove
Thanks,,,it's fun,,,and now ,,,let's party on

The band? Why that'd be the new sensation out of Long island Luv, "Gael Force". I recommend them highly. My deepest condolences for your loss. But isn't that part of what life is about? Love & Loss, People & Emotions. Children, animals & Old People. HHHHhhmmmm....... on second thought, maybe Life is about laying in the hammock with your sweetheart under a heavy scent of nearby honeysuckles, or even the shadows that cross your lawn on a balmy summer night with a million fireflies rising. *takes another sip of whiskey* You know Indy, the funny thing is I actually do sip whiskey every time i type that I do. And you know what else? Just before everything becomes fuzzy, in that precise moment before you forget what the hell you're talking about, everything is "Oh So Clear". God Bless you and yours !!!
By Cleo1 on Sunday, September 15, 2002 - 03:28 am:

By Lacie on Sunday, September 15, 2002 - 02:26 pm:
Fionn, m'darlin' ... to continue on from the memoriam thread - it was too interesting to let pass, and too controversial to post there...................
That's not what you said, Fionn .. perhaps what you meant? I agreed with you wholeheartedly ..
Trying to make the point, though, that not everyone 'good' in this world believes in the same things that you do, or I do. There are many 'truths' that work wonderfully well for many people.
In reality, the Terrorists that committed the resounding crimes of Sept 11, 01, believe VERY much in their cause and believe they are 'doing the right and holy thing'. You and I both disagree. BUT, they, when they stand before THEIR God on their death, will do so with a proud and full filed heart. They believe they are in the right.
I think our task, as people of this planet (omgod that sounds sooo 'fake') .. is to, one by one, decide to be a positive contributor to the lives of those we meet, rather than the all conquering 'right'. I don’t think there is any other way of humankind surviving.
If we don't come to some sort of equilibrium soon, then we will continue this discussion on the other side.
(note: if you had an email address attached to your name, Fionn, I would have sent this there. I hope all is going well with you and yours.)
By Lostsoul on Sunday, September 15, 2002 - 06:32 pm:
I think the two of you are speaking of the same basic thing, just that the phrasing of the individual posts got things muddled. I went back and re-read from Fionn's original one, and your answer was right in keeping with his thought, Lace. After that, things got....well, like they do when we can't actually speak in person and we take meaning from pure text. Basic jist from both of you is 'love one another and do the best you can'...that's what I got.
Now....*hums again*....I'm gonna eat you little shrimp.....Where's more gumbo?? *L* I've got enough alcohol in me that the little devils can just swim around in my stomach!
By Indigo on Sunday, September 15, 2002 - 09:56 pm:
Thanks for the kind thoughts Fionn and cleo1... and for the shots of Paddy's and the Smithwicks... I slept like a Rock, and feel refreshed today... (not even hungover..!)

*Turns to everyone* Well must be off back to Kernow now, the rugby seasons in full flow and i must be there. *Picks up bottle of ale* Til we meet again, i shall bid you farewell, bye one and all.*Walks into sunset accompanied the closing soundtrack of "Gone with the wind"*
By Themightyfionn on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 02:55 am:
Hey Cuz, was that a Motown Soundtrack?
By Themightyfionn on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 04:27 am:
Lacie, tis yet another conversation better suited with a bottle os Uisce !!
By Themightyfionn on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 04:34 am:
And I after I went back and read everything, I never saw Lacie as disagreeing either, and in fact I too agree with her observation. I just thought she desired some clarification on my part. So does all this mean that we're talking about agreeing that we agree as opposed to disagreeing that we agree? Or agreeing that we disagree? Or how about disagreeing that we disagree? *takes a big sip of Dr. Pepper*
By Themightyfionn on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 04:36 am:
G'night gang!
*wonders if he'll draw fire for spelling good night improperly*
By Lacie on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 09:19 am:
LOL @ Fionn .. discussing our agreement, is all. LS, it was never meant to be anything but a sharing of thoughts, no contention.
Mispelling G'night?? Good Lord, man - that is the CORRECT spelling! *grin*
G'day.

I am Cozramh, Supreme Overlord of Remulak. To commemorate the Moons of Meepzore, I order you both to consume mass quantities of your favorite alcoholic beverages. Lacie, scotch, Fionn...Hmmmm, well, pick one...as for the tasks of the people of this planet, well, that's another matter to be discussed later. Pass me the fiberglass insulation and fried chicken embryos, I'm hungry. Hmmmm...gumbo?
By Laurelrose on Monday, September 16, 2002 - 02:13 pm:

I saw the Jeanie Johnston today. Hi Fionn!
By Themightyfionn on Saturday, August 2, 2003 - 08:50 am:
Hello folks.......... this is Fionn (Mighty Fionn). It's about 4am Saturday morning and for whatever reason I just couldn't sleep. What else are you supposed to do at un-Godly hours but surf the net aye? I had a dream this evening about Tir. THE OLD TIR, where I made many friends, where I cried in front of my PC screen or laughed hysterically WITH someone. It amazes me, how the internet, chat, this wee place Tir had impacted my life. August of 1997 seems like light years ago. The hours of chat & banter is gone from me now, gone like the old chemistry we used to have with this place, gone like the friends I've lost. That's cool, *shakes his head* yeah it's gone like alot of things and it's okay. I received a call ON MY CELL PHONE from someone from Tir yesterday saying they were in NY and wanted to get together. The message had a poor connection so I didn't get the whole message. OH WELL........ Whoever it is knows how to reach me and is welcome to do so. Over the years Tir and it's people have changed. I still have a few friends that I'll always stay in touch with one way or another. I know too that I am not especially liked by a good many people as well. That's a shame, my hallmark has always been how easily I keep and maintain friends. But that too is okay, I guess. *sighs* Does anyone remember the first Gathering for Tir? Cleo and I ran this great camping trip up in the 1000 Islands and we had a great turn out. Ha ha ha ...... what a blast that was. Does anyone have the movie I made and sent out to everyone? *weak smile* Yeah those were good old days and lifes changes have put them where they belong, in the past. Well, I'm headin up to RI this week, going to meet Shamrock for a few laughs and a few pints. I first met him up at the 1000 Island trip way back....... 1998? HHHhhmmmm...... I think I'll call Cleo when I wake up tomorrow, it's been too long.....................
PONDERS...... so the GUEST above saw the Jeanie aye? Well hello back atcha guest. I never did like the anonymous guest posts. It served only those who wish to hurt others more than it did as a way for a friend to say hi anonymously. *waves back at GUEST* And so, my times here are gone just like the welcomes. If you know me, you like me. If you know me, you know how to contact me. To the rest, God bless and adios, no hard feelings on my part! An old saying I made up comes to mind; "Spend more time on-life and less time on-line". My life is good, it may not be what I want it to be but I am at peace with it and myself and I pray that all of you are in that same place too.
P.S. (May I bestow an early Birthday wish to my dear friend Wunda? God Bless ya darlin!!)
By Themightyfionn on Saturday, August 2, 2003 - 08:53 am:
ONE MORE THING.......... Whoever gave my cell phone # out I would appreciate it if they wouldn't do that anymore. Ask first please? Of course I'll meet any friend or guest to New York/New Jersey, just ask. See Ya!

*guesthouse again glisteningly clean, all shelves cabinets restocked...fresh home baking aroma wafts from oven*...aaaahhhh now that's better! *...turns up radio...arranges flowers in vase....pours self fresh brewed coffee. Takes hot scone from oven...lightly butters and sits alone at kitchen window on a wet windy spring afternoon.*

Hey Silk,
Shall we start planning a Halloween party here at the guesthouse???
By Silk on Monday, October 6, 2003 - 05:46 am:
"wanders back in...golden leopard skin shoulder slung mini dress with ripped hem...bone tied in auburn hair...4" high stiletto thigh high boots, fingernails shiny metallic blue and large wooden club on shoulder"
Yep! sounds good to me, Indie :)
Whaddya reckon we go with a cave theme this year????? Deck the guesthouse out with rocks, swinging vines and sabre-toothed felines? Needless to say, music would be 'rock' based with as many songs with the word 'rock' in the lyrics - see DJ early for this plan.
Admission by Tarzan call for the men (to be recorded at door and played at suppertime break to the crowd for a laugh), and Pet Rock donation for the women...to be displayed on the bar counter (the rocks...not the women...hehehehe)
All the men can wear an optional loincloth if they're feeling brave enough...*LOL*...or if it's too cold...*wink*, a nice shaggy sheepskin to keep things warm. Mind you we can light up the brazier and patio gas heating! Lighting to be garden torches outside and dimmed indoor lighing inside with candles surrounded with rocks on all tables.
Hands and finger food only for supper...for example, tender baked spare-ribs in spicy plum sauce (eat with fingers....Mmmmmmm), chicken drumsticks, roast lamb knuckles - or if there's a big enough crowd coming...perhaps a nice spit roast! Good supply of serviettes required to clean faces and fingers!
Hors d'ouvers...to have a cave, dinosaur, rock style theme...perhaps nibbles prepared to resemble bugs and critters for a laugh?
Invitations written with a marker on flat light rocks...posted or delivered to mailboxes.
There y'go! :)

We're going to need barrels of booze.
The Tir has been put into the SL Destinations Guide.
It's raining avatars!!
Traffic of 3,671 in the past 24 hours.
By Indigo on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 - 02:50 am:
Geez Acc! I guess! I was there the other day, and avvies kept popping in and out!....Now I know what is going on!
By Indigo on Friday, January 14, 2011 - 05:17 am:
....tonight all quiet on the Tir front..*grins*....and I rather like it quieter... *grins*...
By Indigo on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 - 05:00 am:
finishes banging and hammering the copper tubing to the Cylinder. There! The still is complete! (thanks Ularu--I'd still be out seeking parts if you hadn't helped me out!)....gathers the ingredients for the first batch of Indigo's Folly.... and toasts the grains with just a hint of peat.... but not much....and begins the alchmey....
By Indigo on Thursday, January 20, 2011 - 05:05 am:
rolls in a few wee barrels to start aging the whiskey in.... and lets the distillate fill the barrels.. rolls them into the corner to age and contents herself with a tall, cold pint and a book by the fire.... I know, I know... we'll have to wait a few years to age.... but you know how fast time goes in Tir.... *smiles*

Meanwhile in SL, we have a new illuminated tree.
And Silk has gone berserk with Paddy's Day stuff :)
Things happen slowly in Tir, and they happen early. They have to happen early, because of the slowness.

Ha! Check this out.
Map showing Tir in SL
I stuck a dirty great shamrock and a little Irish flag in the sky over the Tir in Second Life.
