No, they didn't have a different language but often their verse was in riddles that were incomprehensible to other people. A good example is in "The Wooing of Emer" where Emer and CuChulainn converse in poetic riddles. Another example is when Finn MacCumhail gains knowledge by sucking his thumb - he often relates the insight in the form of cryptic incantations.

Breithlá honna duit Kevin = happy birth day Kevin. (I am not sure about the spelling though) If it is in song it would be sung like this:
Lá Breithlá honna duit,: This is only used for when singing the happy birthday song though.

The difference between Irish and Irish Gaelic zilch. It is call Irish Gaelic because there is many version of Gaelic e.g. Scots Gaelic and I think that Wales has another version too. I may be wrong about this but that is what I have been told or led to Believe. It is most likely the result of the Celts who took over these land before the romans kick them out. The Celts were left alone in Ireland though because the Romans thought we were mad because some of us have red hair.
That I Believe is your answer or else there is more then one way to say "I love you"
i.e. Taim i'ngra leat
or else "Tá me i'ngrá leí (this is "i love her")
As i might have said before Irish is a very obscure language thanks to the invasion of the british.

Nah! It's obscure because we're all dreaming.
Lá breithe shona duit.
Day of birth happy to you.
Breithlá is the word for birthday (anniversary)
Lá is the word for day.
The 'sh' in this case pronounced like a 'h'
The 'h's came into the written language when we changed to the Ronam script (An chló Romhánach)
The 'h's replaced the 'shéimhú' - a single dot over a letter.
