If you would enjoy a book of fiction concerning this subject, it is footnoted and is complete with a bibliography listing references where you may pursue this topic. You will have to draw your own conclusions.

The author, Doris Charriere and writer of historical fiction, bases her stories on true characters and actual events and then uses her creative imagination, coupled with intense research, to fill the gaps.

"Tamar The Tender Twig" addresses the question of a Jewish Prophet building a temple in Ireland. The author agrees with Dr. Edward Gwynn, translator of the Irish Dinnshenchas, that the site on the Hill of Tara, County Meath, Ireland, known as the Teach Miodhchuart, matches the description of Solomon's temple. She believes the site is the remnant of a temple built by the Jewish prophet, Jeremiah, sometime after the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C.

I also have researched this topic and would share some other pertinent sources of information and research but need to know how to contact you personally. *S*

Have a look in the Irish Times archive for references to this.

Sadly, for those who would still like to dream of an ark under Co Meath's verdant grass, the Discovery Programme has dealt a further blow to their hopes in the shape of Conor Newman's recently-published book Tara - An Archaeo- logical Survey. For three years, between 1992 and 1995, Newman carried out a non-invasive survey of Tara using the most-up-to-date equipment. The result . . . new insights into ancient landscape but, definitively, no Ark.
