I've been trying to find out more about the Celtic sun stone. I found a replica of one and was wondering what it means. It is a vertical rectangular slab, with three spirals symbolizing the different suns.
Does anyone know more?

Hi Janet
This sounds to me like a description of one of the designs at Newgrange, which pre-dates the Celts in Ireland by over 4000 years. Have a look at http://www.anima.demon.co.uk/stones/newgrang/index.html and go to the picture of the entrance stone. Is this the design you mean?

was Shae correct?

Very likely.
One has to beware of recently invented Celtic thingies (and pre-Celtic thingies).
As Shae says, those spiral designs cut into stone predate the Celts.
Actually they predate a lot of things - the pyramids, for instance.

Along the same lines, a Canadian cartographer has recently suggested that some of the carvings at Knowth, another burial mound in the Boyne valley, are actually a map of the moon. A picture of the drawings superimposed on the lunar 'seas' is very convincing. If this is the case, then it predates the earliest known map of the moon by over 5000 years.
