Mandolin
Fairy playing a medieval mandolin
Cracked with age and use.
Grandfather's child--memories
Tossled red locks wildly swaying
to hypnotic chords.
Grandfather was once a famous travelling troubadour--clipped wings hidden beneath a volumnous cloak.
Secret pain--never revealed.
Her eyes, the eyes of one experienced,
without experience.
One day, he gave her the mandolin-
to struggle with and haunted advice...
"Don't let anyone clip your wings."
Then he faded away into the night.

Untitled as yet
I live in the "truth" of fantasy.
The illusion of reality assaults my senses BUT
I see through it's thin veil into the night and it's magic.
Where faires dance and slyphs sing melodies beyond compare.
Elves work their magic on needy houses and people for a modest bit of milk and bread.
Dwarves craft sparkling objects; rings and necklaces, swords and daggers so sharp they can cut through rock like butter.
WATCH OUT!!
For they are sharp in more than one way!
What vision has common day living compared to the reality of
MAGIC everywhere????

WORDS
Words can be so searing,
they burn one's self-esteem.
Destroy one's trust and confidence...
it wasn't what it seemed.
Is there satisfaction,
and happiness within?
When bitterness strikes out...
does it really win?
(CHORUS)
Friendship is unknown
where the bitter tongue blurts.
Unthinkingly it slithers...
it maims, destroys and hurts.
Others do see through you,
they pity what you are.
The bitterness, the searing...
inside yourself they mar.
The hateful thoughts and spiteful words
will never bring you peace.
Pure joy and light and all that's right...
they never will increase.
(CHORUS)
Unless you open up your heart
and bare your feelings true,
And trust and love and be sincere
in everything you do,
And if you want a peace within...
and strength to carry through,
The bitter words, the bitter thoughts,
must be erased anew.
(CHORUS)
The only person who can choose
the way you feel right now,
And what you think and how you choose...
is only you right now!
A person who is bitter
is forever left alone.
No friends, no peace, no happiness...
their final fate is known.

CUSS WORDS
BY CERIBRID
Power that once was--echoes--
down the canyon of time.
A shadow--a hollow shell of language;
Once crisp with meaning, SHARP, pungent
smell of odours~~long gone.
Language of a time when the words MEANT
something more than a link between sentences,
or fluff to fill up empty spaces between thoughts.
Where other --more innocent words should live.
Meaningless.

I promise.
I stand atop it ALL;
FREE of all bonds,
A slave to none.
I promise.

Those without AND those within,
I promise.
And I will share my life with only those
I CHOOSE!
I promise....

loneliness
comes at me from all sides.
my world lies in pieces at my feet.
i kneel to pick them up, to gather my pride.
our eyes meet,
piercing the mist of joy that all others partake of.
despair
recognizes itself, reaches out.
embraces the knowledge that
i am not alone.
your eyes fall away
and i am once more on my knees,
trying to find the last piece of my shattered world.
i cut myself
on the sharp edges of reality.
the walls are once more built
but only for a time.
strong and solid in apperance only.
they wait for you to break them down,
i want you to break them down.
why
of all the people in the world
does it have to be you?
i run to the light of your prescence
only to find it burns me.
and so i stand
watching from behind my walls.
longing and fear mingle.
once more
our eyes meet.
you are blind to my love
and i see only your rejection.
together we stand alone
islands surrounded by joy
yet not a part of it.
our fortresses are built
our stands taken.
we move through life
with disguised fear.
never delving too deep
afraid that we'll find love,
blossoming there once more.
and when our eyes meet
our worlds are shattered.
because we know
that together we would be complete.
but fear
forever replaces joy.
and we build the walls
one more time.

Here is a very old poem of mine:
TO THE BROKE AND THE BORED
Are you bored beyond belief?
Your fortune is no relief;
the TV has mindless drivel,
that makes intelligence shrivel.
Where do you go?
Can't afford a show.
To hot for a walk,
No one with whom to talk.
Books hold some appeal,
but variety needs a deal.
Depression sets in.
More money is needed for gin.
Scream and shout will do no good.
You might as well talk to wood.
Something creative is the only
solution.
Or
Get off your butt and start self-revolution!

Facing The Dragon
Scales, like diamonds, ever so hard.
Breath, as foul, as a drunken old bard.
Claws, with strenght, to hold lovers apart.
Teeth, sharp as lies, aimed right at your heart.
Wings, so broad, they shut off the light.
Tail, all coiled, a hideous sight.
But pray, let's make one thing perfectly clear,
It's not near as fright'ing, as facing your fear.

And often wonder who's looking back

Do they see what I also see
Is there any one that can understand
The Me that I really am?
The person that I am today
Is different from the one I was yesterday
The person I will be tomorrow
Still has time to learn and grow
The person they will all remember
Is the one I will have forgotten
And left behind in time
In search of a new me

Focus Hill
Close your eyes
Breath the green light
feel the free air
Magic in the flow
happyness in the wild freedom
abandon all restraints
Alien and imposed
lift up your arms
clear mind
old soul
take flight
soar through clouds
past tree's over oceans of fear
imposed and alien
twist
turn
sound your joy
Let it resonate
shatter glass
Break Barriers
dive to the sea
Float in azure comfort
brush against coral
around fesures of heat
swim with fish
different colors
flashing beauty
origens muddyed and unclear
jump and dive
dolphin of a different style
climb to the land
fast and cunning
dangerous with mercy
run
let the wind
chase your tail
fruitless pursuit
never fast enough
to pull it
heart pounding
wise
sences keen
alert to eperiance
ready for adventure
your spirit simmers
fire
distruction
the ultimate act of creation
new earth old rock
Inteligent slumber.
with a roar
burst forth
your power unmatched.
Rush back to a hill
where strong
your mortal shell
awaits your voyages end
open your eyes
seeing now with clarity
Just where you stand.
END
hope you enjoy the trip

THE LAST OF THE DRAGONS
Here the ONE, lone dragon sits
upon a bed of ornament.
Waiting for the hypocrites,
who believe one thing, but acting malcontent.
Once these fine gems were freely given,
from grateful folk, fine and kind.
then the short-minded folk had come-unforgiving
and spread lies about the wise of mind.
They said, "they are of Satan's conceivement,
see their horned heads; see their fiery breath!
They have stolen our gems with their devilment!
Kill them! Send them to their father's depth."
And the people who listened to these twisted lies,
believed and became afraid of earth's caretakers.
Hunted them in their homes; insanity in their eyes!
The earthen-wise sadly waned, into realms of mythmakers.
Here at last is the dragon poem I hope at least one person likes it!

"Soul Mates" by Harvyson Chroney
"Soul Mates"
(Destined to Be...Until The End of Time)
Your act, your state of mind
Your concern and the whole nine.
I can't help believe it but I'm hoping it's true.
You love me already but not the kind of love we're used to.
Not the kind of love that fades,
Not the kind of love that hates,
Not the kind of love we're used to.
You felt me before I even met you,
You wiped my tears before I even met you,
You listened to my song, you knew the story of my heart,
My aches and my pains all of this before I even met you.
You knew my name, not that of my given birth but how to call upon me.
My attention, interest and trust you knew it all.
The fantasies that I've once told you, you're making a reality.
A deeper love more intellectual than superficial,
A love that's premeditated, thought of, dreamt of.
A love fantasized about even before I met you.
I know it was you.
I remember when they hurt me
And each time you tasted my tears,
I didn't have a picture simply because
I didn't feel your flesh; it was deeper.
Your soul touched mine and they kissed.
But that was a while ago when they said we'd meet again
And now here we are, in the flesh and we meet
But you loved me, even before I met you.

A cyber prayer by cheryl palomo
I prayed to the lord, heavenly father above. I asked him to guide us to a special love. i
mentioned how i wanted to meet you. then the lord said "he wants the same too".....
Each night that i cry, the lord would wipe the tears from my eyes. heres hoping the lord
would answer my prayer and help me get this load off my shoulder. i also mentioned
how i never want to loose you, because our love seems so true. The last thing i said to
the lord, "father, please don't let him give up on me" tell him, its meant to be....

TO MY BELOVED FRIEND...3 February 1997
I can never let a day go by without my thoughts of you...so please forgive my gratitude for meeting and loving you.
I can never pass my brother by or ignore his pleas for love...so please, forgive my willing heart, my all, for Him above.
I can never list how much I care for someone dear as you...so please, forgive my trying to help you live, anew.
I can never look upon you now without seeing the Master there...so please, forgive my faith and trust in the trials I must bear.
I can never impose my will on you or control your destiny...so please, forgive my letting go to allow your agency.
I can never be the same again even though we're now apart...so please, forgive my trusting you with sacred knowledge, of my heart.
I can never, will ever, be the same eternally... so please forgive me for growing and achieving a higher destiny.
I can never repay you for all you've helped me see..so please, forgive me, my most beloved friend for helping me to 'BE'.

Stolen and given life
Form, Breath.

A Thought Away

I am the sunshine
Burning bright in your world.
I am the breeze
unnoticed in your hair.
I am a star
Lighting your way by night.
A simple gesture
And you will think of me.
A line in a song
And you will feel me.
A familiar place, a warm
thought,
a touch on your
shoulder by an old friend.
Anytime, anywhere,
All it takes is a moment.
I am always there
Never more than just a thought

My Angel flew me to him by Ronnie Ja`nae Jackson
My angel flew me to my love,on the wings on a beautiful white dove.
In his arms I lay asleep, I never woke him, never made a peep
I needed the safety of his arms,as this is where my heart did wish to be... I Prayed oh
dear God, let this love be for eternity....
Time was going fast ,It was almost dawn...I hated to leave,as this is where My heart
belonged..Oh please my angels let him feel that I was here and my love is real..
I slowly did creep to the window ,and blew him a kiss good bye...Back on Angel wings,
I surely did fly...Back to my home..my heart was broke.."
I am praying that the love he felt, he knew came from me..
I pray he call's and lets me know that he surely wants me.
oh angels of god, I thank you so much
for the heavenly ride and to be able to touch
the face of the man I love

Gotcha' ...... by Marge Tindal
When you lay down at night and sleep won't come
because I'm not there to hold you.
When you've a secret to tell
and my ear is the first you whisper it in.
When you gaze into the night
wishing upon a star...for me to come true.
When all pretense falls away
and you share your tears with me.
When you want someone to share your dreams
and you reach for my hand.
When friends fall and friendships don't,
you let me help you up.
When you awaken and want me more
than that first cup of morning coffee...gotcha'.

This wundaful poem is dedicated to all the new babies:
BABIES
When God wants a great work done in the world or a great wrong righted, He goes about it in a very unusual way. He doesn't stir up His earthquakes or send forth His thunderbolts. Instead, He has a helpless baby born, perhaps in a simple home and of some obscure mother. Then, God puts His idea into the mother's heart and she puts the idea into the baby's mind. And then..... God waits.
The greatest forces in the world are not earthquakes and thunderbolts. The greatest forces in the world are babies.

*Hangs head in shame* Sorry...here's a pillow to slump yer head on the desk...an another shot at being serious. I am a very serious Smart-Arse-At-Tir, aren't I? Oh yeah...this is poetry. Ahem!
I THINK THAT I SHALL NEVER BE...
I think that I shall never be
A serious wun, for that's not me.
I fashion words to wrap the soul,
A blanket of the warmest Bull.
A Ho-Hum clown, and a Mstree,
To intrigue hearts and laugh...hee, hee!
I'm ever changing, switching roles,
To heal broken hearts, those are me goals.
I would not ever intend offense,
It's only me with great pretense.
The words I fashion from me heart,
Are drawn from me own life's darts.
I use me tools, the tools of life,
To help others in great strife.
Me heart is full, it reaches out,
I love others fully, without a doubt.
When life brings pain and adversity,
It is me mentor, me serenity.
I have a choice, be bitter or better?
I use me tools to become unfettered.
With an honest pursuit of truth ahead,
I face life's challenges in me stead.
A serious wun? What do ye see?
Dear guest in life, ye inspired me!

Your Words by Marc Johnson
In your words, I always find
A truthfulness and love so kind
For in your words, there seems to be
Content and happiness, with me
We speak not words that one can hear
But nonetheless these words are clear
I wait and dare not blink my eyes
As I await your sweet replies
Your words, like raindrops from above
Renews my faith, restores my love
Your words bring comfort to my eyes
I see them and I visualize
Your eyes, your lips, your smile, your face
The tenderness of your embrace
I picture starlight in your eyes
As moonbeams stretch across the skies
And in my mind, dear friend, I see
A beauty no one else can see
Not of the beauty you can’t hide
But beauty of, “the you” inside
And now to end, I’ll say, adieu
With these last words, I’ll say to you
The beauty of what you impart
Is in your words and in your heart

I could say the devil made me do it but have to admit it's all rogue's fault the big bully!! so here's my feeble contribution to dragon lovers
For the Love of a Lady
Out of the dark ages
Born of mythology
Firebreathing and fearsome
The mighty dragon emerges
Terror he srikes
In men's hearts
But is is a woman
Who will tame him
He surrounds her with love
Guards her from danger
Beware who dares approach
For her eyes only
He shows his heart
In her arms only
He softly sighs
His life he would give
For his lady's safety
She fears not his strenght
Understands his need
Will forever be his mate

Vision
A shiver a chill
A moment relived
An image of yore
Touches her soul
Not yet understood
Not yet explained
The truth she does seek
To her mind revealed
The shadows of pains
The torments of men
That lived in a land
She has never called home
Why must she climb
Up your mountains?
Why must she feel
The sand of your beaches?
Why is it to her
That you wish to speak?
You send her your words
Give her your feelings
Fill her heart
With love and concern
Give her your tears
Tell her of your fears
Why she does ask
When will she know
What is the story
That must be told
who will listen
Who will hear
Is it in the past
That they will see the future?
Is it in war
That they will find peace?
So many question
So few answers
Your left is my right
My left is your right
We sit and face each other
Take my hand
I will take yours
Finally to be reunited
At peace at last
No more torments
The chills have gone
The war has ended
Warmth fills her body
All is tranquilty

Wars From Within
We fight without swords
Torture our souls
In constant battle
Lost in our torment
No enemy in sight
Still onward we fight
From morning till night
To do what is right
Echos from the past
Resound in our minds
Loves won and lost
Tiny scars that live on
Invisible wounds
With time disappear
Draw on weakness
To feel new strenght
Wars from within
Rage in our hearts
Life our challenge
Our battle to win

Thanks for the comments and if you get tired of this you can blame it all on rogue for creating a monster,,,for those who haven;t read it,,my favourite poem called *freedom* can be seen at http://www.solaseireann.com in the gallery section..you will also find there one called *tears for peace* and a wonderful poem written by rogue called *the harpers* with a musical piece to accompany it...the music was written by McGuire.
I now post a poem I wrote a long time ago but which I still like
By Cleo1 on Wednesday, July 28, 1999 - 03:40 am:
My Dream
As the wind howls fiercely
And the night is at it's darkest
A dream comes and carries me away
To a land yet un touched by man
Where peace is the ruler
Where the word soldier has no meaning
Where I can walk freely and fearless
Never having to look over my shoulder
A land of green lush meadows
And brooks as clear as mirrors
Where the mountain air is pure
Where the thunder I hear is real
Where nature breathes unhindered
And the landscape is unspoiled
A land where there are no boundaries
Where a child is free to grow
Where I can touch my neighbour's hand
And know the feel of friendship
Where the echo of my voice is heeded
For here I am worthy to be heard
A land where I can give my son
A lasting legacy of love
And know that he will never see
The destruction that war brings
And as I awake I feel a sadness
Because I know it to be so
That some dreams will come true
While others never will

Freedom
- from balaclavas
- from nail-studded wood
- from broken knee-caps
- from intimidation by 'our own side'
Freedom
- to live without fear
- to build
- to speak out in our community
- to talk to 'the other side'
Freedom
- to think on the meaning of the word

The Bully
He stands nine feet tall
Makes me feel so small
He plays on my fears
Laughs at me tears
He likes to taunt me
His presence haunts me
Shadows me in daylight
Follows me at night
I wipe away my tears
Push back all my fears
Time to face the bully
That lives deep inside me
I want to turn back
Find excuses not to act
Can't I put him away?
Just for another day
I meet him face to face
In my secret place
I feel nine feet tall
He seems so small

THE GREY
(A chat near the shore; dissolving white paint flakes off a wooden wall; behind us)
How melancholy this place, people liked to promenade here...
A forgotten walk, down memory lane.
Words of daily summer holiday routine, engraved in parapets.
Decades for decades, layers of words. Layers of paint. Layers of pain. Layers of trust.
(Suddenly, a gull lands on top of all these words. Minutes of silence. The gull flew away.)
All has left here.
But we are, still?
(A glance to the horizon, I recognize your chilling shoulder)
Chilling is timeless, isn`t it?
Summer's sun is coming up soon; blazing hot parapets.
Warm wood. Cold words.

CELTICFAERIE
If I were known to the world
And the world known to me
Then I would no longer be a mystery
Or the world a mystery to me
And so I will let them gaze upon me
Standing tall and proud
At last revealed
Undaubted unafraid
Ready to let them see
The beautiful heart
The glow buried deep inside me
For I am the spirit of tales once told
I am the celticfaerie
I have walked in the meadows
Sung in the breeze
I have hidden in the shaddows
Flown over the seas
Listened to the rivers
Echoed laughter in the canyon
Carved names upon trees
Whispered with the wind
Danced with the raindrops
Slept upon the raven's wing
I took a feather light and course
Wrote a poem with the angels
Teased the devils with remorse
I took a brush of silk
Drew a night of dreams
Sprinkled it with stardust
Lit it with a moonbeam
Watched in awe
As they danced before me
Gentle and new
A brew from the mysteries
A sign from the heavens
The message was clear
Their spirits were ready
Now was the time
To enter their minds
Touch their imaginations
Let them know me
As I knew them
So like a budding rose
New to the sunlight
The fearie arose
Touched the light
Evermore day
Nevermore night
Living in eternity
A story once told
A dream everlasting
The elusive celticfaerie

ok so babies it is this time,,babies that one day grow up,,so for all you parents out there,,here's one I wrote to my........
Daughter
you came from me
small and helpless
crying in the night
I held you
I loved you
I protected you
I held your hand
I thaught you
I guided you
I let you go
I held on
I watched you grow
you are me
you are you
you are a woman
you are my baby daughter

And now for something entirely different...
*yes Lathario they know all about the the copyright laws...jeees...*
The Magician of 'tricity
When all icq'ers
are snug in their bed,
And everything else
on the web is so dead,
The Magician of 'tricity
is scratchin' his head.
Fixin' cables and wires,
they'll work he does pray,
With the spin of the 'lectron,
he deftly does play,
'ssemblin' bytes and the bits
for the coming new day.
Just one more adjustment,
he's nearin' his goal,
The drives are all fixed now,
their ready to roll,
This 'puter will run
like a three week old foal.
He's ever so close now,
time to give it the gas,
When on Cuseeme appears
a comely young lass,
Then screwdriver hits power,
he's flat on his ...
Now, if you see someone walkin',
tilted towards lee,
And he's shaking so slightly,
from shoulder to knee,
It's the Magician of 'tricity,
after shock therapy.

*snifs and blows nose*.. Oh you guys... this stuff is sooooooooo good. Cleo, I will forever be your Number Wun Fan
Saoirse!
I suppose I should visit the Tir Wishlist, technically speaking... however, I truly wish, someday I could sit in one large room with all of the talent and kindness of Tir. I would sit in awe of all of you!

I'm carefully hidden behind my clown face,
with it I shield myself from pain.
It rarely comes off, even to close friends-
the illusion protects the real me:
vulnerable and scared.
I keep all my feelings deep down inside,
never fully revealing them to anyone.
Criticism of my emotions is like a knife wound...
that sears me for life-
never forgetting the hurt, the words, the laughter.
I'm like an actor-
never playing himself:
I keep me to me...
in this way I'm safe.
I've never let my feelings overpower me-
I couldn't bear the inevitable pain that would
follow.
Noone knows the true me and noone ever will.
Maybe someday I'll open up and let someone see
the hidden me.
But even then,
the confusion and complexity would bewilder them..
And they'd never understand.

the title of the next poem belongs to a dear friend I often call bud,,,he gave me the title and I gave it the words
A Mother's Heart Never Dies
She carries us close to her heart
For nine months her warmth is ours
Her love grows each and every day
From conception till birth
She is our refuge our safe haven
Close to her bosoms she holds us
Listens to us and comforts us
Scolds us and teaches us
Laughs and cries with us
She takes our pain, makes it hers
Revels in our happiness
And if at times we don't agree
she forgets her grudges quicky
She gives us all that she can give
We know that in time of need
We can draw from her endless strenght
She doesn't ask for much in return
Then sadly one day she leaves us
Our tears flow our hearts break
We see her smile hear her voice
She still lives within us
Her words we will always remember
Her touch is ours to keep forever
As long as we live we will know
A mother's heart never dies
